I bought one of the new Hero Arts sets that includes stamps and matching dies. The dies are unique in that they cut right at the very inner edge so no guessing where it is going to cut like dies with the cutting edge in the middle. I needed a bunch of thank you cards for the lovely professionals who cared for Teddy and me in the hospital. I had several great nurses and my OB was great too so I did an assembly line. Splitcoast Stampers has a series of challenges during the month of October in honour of Breast Cancer month. Many people are sending their cards to a cancer center in Texas but as in my last post, I have someone to give mine to who’s a bit closer to home. This week our OCC challenge was to use weaving on your card. I decided to use an uneven type of weaving, threading Memory Thread by DMC through a trellis to resemble a vine. I made these for a fabric ATC challenge. I’d never made ATCs using this much fabric before so I wanted to try it out. I used some scraps from an apron my mom made. It was supposed to  be mine but the pattern had a shaped chest area and it made up quite small so no room for my ample bosom! She’ll make me another but for now, I get to play with the scraps! It’s been a while but it seems I’m back into doing challenges again. I kinda go in spurts! This one is for The Shabby Tea Room’s sketch challenge, also for the Our Creative Corner a.k.a OCC Design Team search challenge and the Crazy 4 Challenges inspiration challenge! I needed a card for a very sick friend who recently found out she has a very aggressive form of cancer. I gotta say, no fun writing out that one. I just love using pink for wintery scenes. I actually HATE winter but I don’t mind crafting that focuses on winter because I am warm and snuggy in my house while I work! And snowflakes are so pretty! I am a huge fan of making little boxes. I bought the pattern for this one from My Time, Made Easy; it is called Tuckered Out. Cute name huh? Isn’t that puppy cute?
